My passion for cooking began even before I received my first cookbook – Betty Crocker Jr. – on my 9th birthday. Making my very own grown-up food like grilled cheese sandwiches or lemon pie was so exciting to me! I loved the thought of it all: planning, shopping, prepping, cooking, and of course eating!
When I was growing up, food and family were the most important parts of any celebration. Preparation, knowledge, skill, and most importantly, love went into everything we made -- from canning and pickling my dad's garden tomatoes and cucumbers to making every holiday feast.
My tastes have always gravitated towards more simply prepared foods. It's my favorite thing to cook with farm fresh ingredients using rustic techniques like roasting and grilling. I love to take a fresh set of ingredients and turn them into something beautiful in both flavor and appearance to produce
something I'm proud to serve.
